Did you know?

The Scar Heal Kit minimises your risk for developing a scar after any surgical procedure. We recommend starting as soon as your stitches are removed and your wound is completely closed. The Scar Heal Kit is simple system that maximises results.

When Should I Start Using Silicone Sheets For Scars?

If you’re wondering when to start using silicone scar sheets, always start by talking to your doctor about any treatment that involves a recently healed wound. Our recommendation is that you start using silicone products as soon as your wound closes. This will not only allow plenty of time for the skin to come together, but will also allow you to intervene with scar-healing products at a critical moment in the restructuring of the scar tissue.

How Do I Clean My Scar Fx Sheeting?

You should only clean your Scar FX sheeting with un-concentrated soaps and warm (not hot) water. Gently massage the soap into both sides of the sheet, making sure to loosen any dirt or hair that has collected on the sheet. With warm water, rinse away all of the debris. It’s important to use soap because this is what will remove any naturally-produced oils that have collected on the silicone sheet.

To dry your silicone sheet, let it air-dry. If you dry it with a towel or paper towel, you run the risk of transferring some tiny particles that will make the silicone sheet stick to your skin improperly.

More questions

How Long Do Silicone Sheets For Scars Last?

While the natural tackiness of the adhesive is designed to last for about a month, many patients find that they can still use our silicone sheeting even after that time period. As long as you take care of your sheet and clean it properly, the adhesive should last you long enough to heal your scar. And if you still need to use your silicone sheeting even after the tackiness has faded, you can still use the sheeting with the medical tape we included in each Scar Heal Kit.

Why Won’t My Scar Fx Sheeting Stick?

If this is your first time trying to apply your Scar FX sheet, you may have missed the thin protective layer that sits on top of the adhesive layer. There is a thin layer of plastic on each side of your silicone sheet.

If you’ve been using your sheet for a few weeks and the tackiness is starting to wear off, this is normal. With regular use (and proper cleaning), the adhesive will last you at least a month, but it will fade sooner or later. If you have an older sheet that won’t stick, simply apply the included tape to the edges of the silicone sheet, and you’re good to go!

Can I Use Silicone Scar Sheeting With Other Products?

If you apply a product under the silicone sheeting, you’ll have trouble with the sheet sticking properly. In order to get the best scar recovery, we recommend that you use the Scar FX silicone sheet at night and our Rejuvasil topical silicone during the day. After you’ve seen the maximum results from your Scar Heal Kit combination, Scar Esthetique is a great product to use to help reduce any lingering discoloration.

How long does each breast kit last?

Each Scar Heal Kit is designed to provide scar management for around 30-45 days. Once your scar is flat and smooth, use Scar Esthetique for any remaining discoloration.

When should I use each product in the breast scar kit?

The Scar Heal Kit for breasts is specializes in making scar management as easy as possible. Use breast silicone sheeting at night or while you sleep. Apply the silicone scar gel over your breast scar during the day or when you're most active. Give the gel time to dry before putting on clothes.

How long does it take to see results?

You may start seeing results in as little as a few days or a few weeks. Remember, scar management takes time, so to maximise results we recommend continuing use until you see no further improvement. To maximise results consider using our Scar Heal Kit.

How do I clean the silicone breast sheeting?

You can clean the two breast sheets with a mild, non-concentrated soap and water. The best method is to lather the soap in your hand and then rub the sheet, gently removing any stuck-on debris.

How can I get my silicone sheet to stay in place?

First, make sure that you have removed both sides of the plastic backing from your sheet. The tacky side can be very difficult to remove. If you need additional sticking power, use the tape provided.
