Which Scar Fx Silicone Sheet Do I Need?

The type of Scar Fx silicone sheet you will need depends on the type of wound you have or the kind of surgery you have undergone. Here’s a quick guide.

Small Wounds or Burns/Keyhole Surgery

For small wounds or burns you will need either a 3.75cm x 7.5cm or a 7.5cm x 12.5cm Scar Fx Silicone Sheet. For keyhole surgery a 3.75cm x 7.5cm sheet should be sufficient.

Large Areas of Burned or Traumatised Skin

For larger areas of burned skin or traumatic injury you will need a 25cm x 30cm Scar Fx Silicone Sheet

Caesarian Section

After Caesarian Section you will need a 3.75cm x 22.5cm Scar Fx Silicone Sheet. We can also offer a kit that includes the sheet and a tube of ScarSil Scar Gel.

Abdominal Surgery

After abdominal open surgery you will need a 2.5cm x 30cm Scar Fx Silicone Sheet.

Abdominoplasty or Bariatric Surgery

For the even longer incisions resulting from Abdominoplasty or Bariatric Surgery you will need a 2.5cm x 55cm Scar Fx Silicone Sheet.

Bear in mind that you can cut your sheet for perfect fit, allowing a small border around your scar for complete coverage.

Breast Surgery

Your choice of Scar Fx silicone sheet will depend on the incisions your surgeon chooses to make. The possibilities are:

Concentric or “donut”: This incision traces all the way around the areola. For this you would require the Scar Fx Breast Circle.

Circumvertical or “lollipop”: Like the concentric incision, this incision traces all the way around the areola but adds a vertical line down toward the bottom of the breast. For this you would require the Scar Fx Lollipop Breast Piece.

Inverted T or “anchor”: The inverted T incision traces all the way around the areola, down vertically to the bottom of the breast, and horizontally along the inframammary crease where the breast meets the chest wall. For this you would require the Scar Fx Breast Anchor.

Remember when ordering that they come individually (not everyone requires two) unless you order a Scar Heal Kit for Breast Procedures.

Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting is the GOLD standard recommended by dermatologists and skin specialists.
